Review disclaimer

What a South African Casinos review can and cannot tell you, and where the publisher’s responsibility ends.

Last updated Section Guides

This disclaimer applies to every page of southafriancasinos.co.za, published by Meridune Media Group DMCC, Mazaya Business Avenue BB1, Cluster BB, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It sits alongside the terms of use, the privacy policy and the page on how commission works here. Reading or relying on the site means accepting what follows.

What a review here is

A guide written by an editorial desk

South African Casinos is an information site. It reads casino offers from the point of view of a player with a rand bank account and writes down what it finds. It does not run games, does not take a single cent in stakes, never holds player funds and has never held a gambling licence. Any account you open, any deposit you make and any dispute you end up in is between you and the operator.

Not advice

No page here counts as financial, legal or tax advice, and no page promises that you will win. Casino games are built to return less to players than they take in over time. Guides that explain blackjack strategy, wagering maths or house edge describe how the games work; they do not turn a negative-expectation game into an income. Decide for yourself, and if the decision involves a lot of money or a legal question, ask a qualified person who knows your circumstances.

Blog posts and explainers

The blog covers deposit rails, bank blocks, vouchers, exchange control and the habits of cashier departments. Each post describes the situation on the day it was written and is not updated as often as the reviews. Treat an older post as background, check the date at the top, and confirm anything that matters with the bank, the voucher seller or the operator concerned.

How far the figures go

Terms change faster than pages

A review records the operator’s terms on the date printed on it. Welcome packages are withdrawn, wagering multipliers go up, a payment rail disappears from the cashier, a withdrawal cap is quietly lowered. We correct pages when we find out, but there is always a gap between the change and the correction. Before you deposit, open the operator’s own bonus terms and cashier page and read them in full. Where they disagree with this site, theirs apply.

Data that comes from someone else

Return-to-player percentages, jackpot totals, lottery and PowerBall results, game rules and licence details are taken from game studios, operators, draw organisers and public registers. We copy them as published and do not audit them. A wrong number at the source will be a wrong number here until somebody notices. Draw results should always be checked against the official draw before you claim anything.

Rands, dollars and conversions

Some operators keep accounts in rands, others in dollars or euros. Where a figure is converted, the conversion is approximate and the rate on the day you deposit will be different. Banks may also add their own foreign transaction fees, which do not appear anywhere on the operator’s page or on ours.

Scores and opinions

Scores follow the published method on how we rate casinos. They are an editorial judgement built on that method, not a measurement, and two careful readers can weigh the same terms differently. A high score is not a guarantee that an operator will pay, and a missing casino is not a verdict against it.

Worked examples and screenshots

Wagering calculations, withdrawal timelines and screenshots of cashier pages illustrate one case at one moment. Your own deposit, the game you choose, the bonus you take and the verification checks an operator runs on your account can all produce a different result, and a screenshot cannot show a change made after it was taken.

Free-play games

Demo slots, blackjack, roulette and scratchcards on the free-play pages are supplied by game studios and run with play money. A demo can behave differently from the real-money version an operator offers, the settings an operator chooses can change the return, and a winning streak in a demo says nothing about what will happen when rands are on the line.

The law and your position

Online casinos and South African law

Online casino play is not a licensed activity under South Africa’s National Gambling Act; the online gambling that can be licensed locally is betting. Casinos reviewed here operate under licences issued outside South Africa, or under none at all, and the review says which where the operator publishes it. Covering an operator does not mean that your own play there is lawful, and the site does not say so. Your position depends on the law where you are and on your own circumstances, and checking it is your job.

Age

Readers must be 18 or older, the threshold already used across its pages. Nobody younger should open a casino account, and operators void accounts and winnings that belong to minors. If children use your devices, use the parental controls on the device rather than trusting a registration form.

Your bank and the exchange control rules

Some South African banks block card payments to gambling merchants, and money sent to an operator abroad may fall under exchange control rules. Blog posts on these subjects explain how things worked when they were written. They are not a ruling on your account, and your bank’s answer is the one that counts.

Links, money and other sites

Commission links

The site is funded by commission. Buttons to casinos, the “Top rand casinos” list and links under /go/ can earn the publisher a payment from the operator when a reader registers. You are not charged for it. The full arrangement, including what the commission does and does not influence, is on how commission works here.

Operator sites and beyond

Clicking through to an operator takes you off South African Casinos. The operator’s terms, privacy notice and complaints procedure take over from that moment. We do not control those sites, cannot see your account and cannot recover money from them. The same applies to payment providers, voucher sellers, app stores and any other site we mention.

When something goes wrong with a casino

If an operator refuses a withdrawal, closes an account or applies a bonus clause you did not expect, the route is the operator’s written complaints procedure first and then the body named in its licence. The contact page explains that route. The editorial desk can correct a review that turns out to be wrong, and will do so, but it cannot act for you, negotiate on your behalf or pay out anything an operator has withheld.

Ownership, liability and changes

Who owns the words

Reviews, guides, tables, scores and the page design are the property of Meridune Media Group DMCC or are used with permission. Trade marks of operators and studios stay theirs; we print them because a review of an unnamed casino would be useless. Reuse beyond a short quotation with a link needs written permission.

Where responsibility stops

So far as South African law permits, the publisher bears no liability for loss flowing from using or relying on the site: stakes lost, bonuses forfeited, withdrawals refused or delayed, accounts closed by an operator, costs of currency conversion, or the site being unavailable or wrong for a while. Where a statute forbids excluding a particular liability, that liability remains in full and is not touched by this page.

Applicable law

This disclaimer is read under the law of the Republic of South Africa, the country the site is written for, whatever the location of the publisher.

Changes to this page

The disclaimer is revised when the site, the market or the law changes. Whichever version carries the latest “Last updated” stamp is the one that counts; older versions stop applying the day a new one is published. Material changes are also noted on the pages they affect, too.

Gambling that stops being fun

Set a limit before you start, never chase a loss and never stake rands that are meant for rent, food or debt. If you notice that you are hiding play or borrowing to keep going, stop. The support lines, bank blocks and self-exclusion routes we have checked are on the responsible gambling page.

Corrections are most useful with the page address and the line as it reads now. Phone calls cannot be taken, and questions about a casino account should go to the casino.
